35: large lithographed cookie tin in the form of the nativity stable ; it opens at the top, with one side of the roof with a hinge and the other fixed at the side. It has been dated being of the 1920s and origin Germany. There are no marks. Dimensions: 29cm wide x 18,5cm deep and 26cm high. |

36 and 37: Two tins in the model of an air balloon. They are not Christmas designs, but when I saw them I liked them so much that I had to have them. At first I thought they were tea containers, but afterwards I saw a similar tin with a label on the base, describing it as "WALKER'S OLD ENGLISH ROYAL TOFFEES....BEST BEFORE: AUG 1997". and "PACKED ESPECIALLY FOR NORM THOMSON". Of course it is also possible that the tins were manufactured by a company specialised in metal packings and available for all companies. |
